Play & Dress began with something a little girl already knows by heart: whatever she is wearing, her doll should be wearing too.
So we make every dress twice. The same cotton, the same pattern, the same hands — one in her size, one small enough for the friend who goes everywhere with her. Each set is cut, sewn and finished by hand in Brazil, which is why no two dolls are ever exactly alike.
Every print is made for all seven. She picks the doll, then she picks the dress.

Our dresses are made by seamstresses who have been making them for years — cutting the cotton, sewing the seams, tying the bows, finishing every hem.
The dolls are made the same way. Soft cloth bodies, faces drawn one at a time, and a dress cut from the very same fabric as hers.
It is slower than the alternative. It is also why a Play & Dress set still looks like something after a year of being loved.

There are faster ways to make a children’s dress, and cheaper ways to make a doll. We have looked at all of them.

Dresses run true to age. If she is between two sizes, take the larger one — these are made to be grown into, and kept. Full measurements are on every product page.
Machine wash cold. Hang dry. The doll is best washed by hand.
